Pygmy Marmoset


The Pygmy Marmoset is a monkey native to the rainforest canopies of western Brazil, southeastern Colombia, eastern Ecuador, and eastern Peru. They are omnivorous, feeding on fruit, leaves, insects, and sometimes even small reptiles


The Pygmy Marmoset is a New-world monkey native to the rainforest canopies of the Amazon Basin in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. It is said to be notably being the smallest monkey in the world at just over 100 grams (3.5 oz).


The pygmy marmoset usually lives in group which consists of five to nine individuals with a dominant male and a breeding female. Their communication system is complex and includes vocal, chemical, and visual signals.


Food: tree gum, insects especially butterflies 
Habitat: generally found in evergreen and river edge forests
