Frill-Necked Lizard


 


The frill-necked Lizard are also known as the frilled-lizard or frilled-dragon are found mainly in northern Australia and southern New Guinea.

They are relatively large lizard, averaging 85cm in length. It got its name because of the large ruff of skin around its neck that usually spreads out when frightened, during courtship or in discouraging predators.

Food: Insects like cicadas, beetles, termites and small mammals
Habitat: humid climates such as tropical savannah woodlands
