Proboscis Monkey

The proboscis monkey or long-nosed monkey is a reddish-brown Old world monkey that can be usually found in south-east Asian island of Borneo. Its most distinctive trait is the male's large protruding nose and it has been suggested that the female proboscis monkey prefers big-nosed males.


They usually lives in groups which composed of one adult male, some adult females and their offspring.

Food: seasonal folivore and frugivore, the proboscis monkey eats primarily fruit and leaves
Habitat: endemic to the island of Borneo and can be found on all three nations that divide the island: Brunei, Indonesia, and Malaysia
